So, I had a revelation on Friday…I discovered that I do in fact, have curly hair. I know what you’re thinking…“How does someone, not know they have curly hair?” Well, I have always straightened my hair, and I have never tried letting it air dry with a little product in it! Here is how I discovered it. A friend of mine has extremely curly hair…like Shirley Temple style. We were going on a trip and she was able to wash her hair and not even worry about drying it! She could scrunch it with a little product and be  on her way! I guess you could say I had curl envy. I really did not feel like drying and then straightening my hair; I mean seriously who honestly enjoys taking time out to do that!? So I asked her to help me scrunch my hair. Why not, right? Low and behold, MY HAIR CURLED! Where did these luscious locks come from? I was in awe at the new versatility and hairstyle I had discovered in like 5 minutes!

I was so excited at my discovery that I have been doing my hair like this non-stop! I came to work, to see what we had here in terms of curls…and I came across DEVA-CURL. This product is made and used by ladies that have super curly hair! The line doesn’t make you want to just overlook your awesomely bouncy curls, but it celebrates them, and teaches you to style them to their fullest “curl-tential”.  The makers of Deva Curl, came up with a super awesomely, quick 3 step system that leaves your hair amazingly curly. First, you use their “No Poo” hair cleanser, (which is a shampoo, without the lather which strips your curls away from all of the amazing curliness), next you use a conditioner, which leaves your curls soft and bouncy; and they even recommend starting the scrunching process in the shower with a little bit of leftover conditioner! The last step is a leave in curl enhancer, which sets your curls without making them feel hard and crunchy [EW]! We sell the ENTIRE Deva Curl line at the salon, and I cannot wait to try it. They have a mini starter kit that I am getting to tame these new found curls that I found! Did you know?

Did you know that you are not supposed to wash your hair everyday? Yea, yea, I know what you’re thinking! “Ew!”, “But my hair is greasy!”, “I have to wash it twice a day!”…well contrary to popular belief washing your hair too much can strip it from the good essential oils and nutrients, it naturally produces that you could be washing out! At the very least, wash your hair every OTHER day. Washing it everyday makes it dry, and brittle! You’re probably thinking, how gross, and foul this may be if you’re one of those people who are super strict and absolutely HAVE to wash your hair everyday, but I promise you there is a solution! It is blowing up salons, and it actually works…(I can vouch for it, I use it)…DRY SHAMPOO! It lasts long, and actually works. Let’s say you wash your hair on a Monday, but don’t really feel like it Tuesday…perfect! Just get some dry shampoo and that will keep your hair smelling great, looking fresh, and oil free! Basically, wake up…brush your hair like always, and then section it off, and spray the dry shampoo in between your different hair parts! All you have to do is make sure its rubbed in well, and you style you hair like normal! Not only does it keep your hair clean, but it actually allows you to style your hair normally as well! Do you ever look at other peoples nails, and get nail envy?  I know I do! My little stubs don’t even come close to comparing to some of the beautifully manicured nails that I see leaving the salon on a daily basis! I got my first set of fake nails when I was a junior in high school, just in time for prom season…I thought I was so awesome, until I was angry and annoyed and wanted those babies off the next day! A few years later, when I was in a friends wedding, I figured, why not try again! It’s been a few years…I’m older, wiser, more tolerable…but no! I wanted those things off the next day again! I had pretty much come to the conclusion that I would never have pretty, cute, stylish nails…until I discovered Gel Polish!

Although I may have stubby nails because mine don’t grow, I am determined to make them look good! The Gel Polish by OPI is an amazing product and I am not just saying that to try and make you buy it…but it actually does what it promises. When you get the nail polish, there are 3 different layers. There is a bottom coat, which the next coat (color) will adhere to, and you finish the process with a top coat. You put your hand under an LED light for [literally] 30 seconds, and this is what cures the colors to the nails, and forms the really super shiny Gel layer. When I heard about the product I was skeptical because I never had any nail luck before. But I was wrong! The polish stays on chip free for AT LEAST 3 weeks, and also you can’t chip them because they have to be soaked off like fake nails which is why they stay on so well.

The process is painless, the nails look awesome, they stay on for forever, why would you not try it? Call us at the salon and try it out, I promise you will love them and your nails will look just as good as every others ladies’ that you have been secretly wanting!
